A Menu Full of Family Favorites at O’s American Kitchen

O’s American Kitchen is a casual, family friendly restaurant with multiple locations in Southern California. Formerly known as Pat & Oscars, O’s has been updated, renamed and has added new menu items while keeping the menu favorites of its past. We have been dining at O’s/Pat & Oscars for years and always stop by for meal whenever we are in the San Diego area. With a menu full of favorites like pizza, pasta, wings, ribs and chicken, everyone in the family should find something on their menu that they love.

The Food of O’s American Kitchen

Over the past couple of years, we have tried a variety of their menu items and luckily the combo meals allow us to have our favorites in one meal. The food at O’s American Kitchen is made with fresh, quality ingredients and most of the items we tried were simply delicious.

O’s Signature Combo Meals

One of my favorite things about O’s American Kitchen is their signature combo meals for 1 -6 people. Being a family of three that likes a variety of food in our meals, these combos were a perfect fit for our family meals. We often order the Family Combo Meal for four, which was enough to fill us up at the restaurant and provide a nice leftover meal the next day. If you are not looking for a big family meal, they also offer individual combo meals for one or two people. To top it all off, the combo meals are very affordable and you get plenty of bang for the buck for all of the tasty food you get.

An example of the variety and value you get from the combos is the Family Combo Meal that we order. This combo meal comes with a greek or caesar salad, unlimited breadsticks, a half roasted (lemon or BBQ) chicken, a big bowl of (marinara, bolognese, alfredo or tomato cream) pasta and a medium cheese pizza.

Appetizers & Starters

The breadsticks are my absolute favorite and I have been known to stop by and pick up a dozen to eat at home. These doughy sticks of deliciousness have a slight crunch on the outside, a spongy inside and are coated with butter and garlic. They are hand rolled and baked fresh throughout the day and arrive at your table golden brown and piping hot in a basket.

As if the breadsticks weren’t amazing enough, O’s also has premium breadsticks which are their original breadsticks with toppings added. Bacon Cheddar, Pepperoni Cheddar, Four Cheese and Jalapeno Cheddar are the four choices of premium sticks offered. We had the pleasure of trying the Jalapeno Cheddar breadsticks and loved the crunchy texture of the baked on cheddar, the spiciness of the jalapeno pieces and the doughy sticks themselves. O’s breadsticks have literally ruined many other restaurants attempts at breadsticks for me.

O’s American Kitchen has 7 different salads to choose from with each of them offered in small, medium and large sizes. The variety of salads on the menu range from traditional salads like Cesar and Greek to the more unique salads like Bangkok Chicken and Chicken Cobb. We have tried all of the salads and our favorites are the BBQ Southwest Chicken (bbq chicken, corn, black beans, avocado and parmesan served in a tangy ranch dressing) and Greek Salads.

Main Dishes

As with their salads, O’s American Kitchen offers up a nice variety of main entrees on their menu as well. These main dishes can be part of one of the combo meals or ordered on their own. Since we have tried all of their entrees, we can comfortably recommend them all, but a few really stand out and are our family favorites.

Starting off with our favorite, the Baby Back Ribs are very tender, meaty and coated with a delicious tangy BBQ sauce. Another favorite that we highly recommend is the BBQ Wings which are fall-off-the-bone tender and smothered in tangy BBQ sauce. I have never been a fan nor have I ever ordered a plate of wings for myself, but these wings are my exception to my own rule. Another staple of our meals at O’s American Kitchen is their pizzas and pastas. We like their sausage pizza and their marinara pasta.

New to their menu and to go along with their 9 other artisan sandwiches is their new toasted sandwich melts. This was our first time trying these and we really enjoyed the two we tried. I loved their Tuscan Ciabatta Melt and my wife loved the Beef and Mushroom Melt. We were told that these new sandwiches will be added permanently to their main menu. Another new menu item we tried and loved was the Chicken & Bacon Carbonara twice baked pasta.

O’s Kid’s Meals

For your kids under 11 years old, O’s has five choices entrees for their kids meals. Kids have a choice of an all-natural skinless chicken breast or chicken tender, a choice of pasta, turkey provolone sandwich or an individual pizza. These entrees are served with one breadstick, a kid’s soft drink and choice of one side dish.

Desserts

With all of the tasty food you will be feasting on, it will be a tough task to leave room for dessert. We recommend that you save just enough room to share one of O’s delicious desserts. Our choice here is the O’s American Cookie which is a large freshly baked cookie topped with vanilla bean ice cream. This is one of the best desserts we have had at any restaurant and it is big enough to share with the family. They also offer a Ghirardelli brownie topped with the same vanilla bean ice cream as well as their signature breadsticks rolled in cinnamon.
