Floridays Resort Orlando

Floridays Resort Orlando is Great for Families

We had the pleasure of staying at Floridays Resort Orlando for a week on our first trip to the Theme Park Capital of the World. We were there, as most visitors are, to enjoy the various water and theme parks that are in and around the Orlando area. One of the reasons we chose Floridays Resort Orlando, was its close proximity to most of the parks we were going to be visiting on our week long family vacation. The other reason was the condo style suites that they offer.

The Suites at Floridays Resort Orlando

One of the big pluses of this resort and the main reason we booked our vacation here was the two and three bedroom suites they offer at the resort. For our family stay we stayed in their 2 Bedroom Grand Suite which sleeps up to six people. Our suite felt like a home away from home as it had a living room, fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer and a private balcony.

The suite was very spacious at 1000 sq ft with a large dining and living room area. We loved having a room for our daughter to sleep in that was separate from the living area, which made it pretty easy at bedtime. Both bathrooms were nice and the master bathroom had a big Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. The washer and dryer had to be my favorite amenity. I over pack every vacation, but since I knew we had the laundry area in our suite I only packed half of the clothes I own, lol. Having a fridge is also a big bonus when you are on vacation. We stocked up some essential drinks, snacks and a few meals for when we were at the resort. On top of having all you need for your stay, Floridays Resort Orlando also starts you off with some K-cups of coffee, laundry detergent and dish-washing liquid and dishwasher soap. It had everything we needed as a family on vacation.

The Resort

The Mediterranean style looking resort was beautifully kept and had a nice family atmosphere about it. The main pool was a hit with our daughter as it had a Playscape area of the pool with spraying fountains and waterfalls. This is a pretty large pool, so the Playscape area doesn’t dominate the pool area. There is another pool which is a bit calmer if you just want to swim. The main pool area also offers family friendly activities with games and arts and crafts.

Also near the main pool is the The Palm Cafe which offers cooked to order items like pizzas, as well as grocery items and toiletries. This was very convenient to grab a snack or drink whenever you needed one. There is a game room with fun arcade games and a fitness room for those that can’t refrain during their vacation. After all of that theme park food, I should have lived in the fitness room for the whole vacation.

Floridays Resort Orlando’s Prime Location

Floridays Resort Orlando is located on International Drive and is a very close drive to most of the Orlando theme parks and other attractions in the area. You can choose to use their scheduled shuttles to the various theme parks or rent a car and make the short drives yourself. We opted to rent a car and drive ourselves to the theme parks as we needed the freedom to go to other areas of Orlando in addition to the theme parks.

As you can see from our Orlando Tourist Map, Floridays Resort Orlando is in the middle of all of the action. Some of the attractions that are under 5 miles away include SeaWorld, Walt Disney World, Downtown Disney, Aquatica, Discovery Cove and the Orlando Premium Outlets. Just outside of the 5 mile radius but still under 15 miles away, you can quickly get to the Universal theme parks, Gatorland, Downtown Orlando and the Orlando International Airport. The only time we ventured out of this area was our day trip to Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL.
