Caminero Tacos: A Family Friendly Restaurant in the Cancun Hotel Zone
One of the best places to eat on the Cancun Hotel strip when you are looking for a low key meal is Caminero Tacos. While staying in Cancun, our family was looking for place to eat that was not a complete sit down, fine dining restaurant and walking through an alley we came across Caminero Tacos. I know “walking through an alley” sounds totally shady, but when I say alley, I mean an alley of restaurants and vendors. Anyway, it was totally safe and family friendly. The outskirts of the alley is party central, but that doesn’t really get going until about 10pm.

Caminero Tacos has an nice restaurant with friendly staff, great food, wifi and air conditioning and you can tell they run a tight ship. The restaurant itself is very clean both inside and out. After having combed the strip for a quick and family friendly restaurant with food the whole family will enjoy, I can honestly say that this is a must visit place while in Cancun. We love this place so much that we actually ate at Caminero Tacos three of the six nights that we went out for dinner. This is a gem of a find for those seeking great food at affordable prices with friendly service.

Caminero Tacos provides a clean eating area with fantastic food. We even made friends with Pepe who was our server every time we dined there. The food was delicious and very authentic. As you sit down at Caminero Tacos they bring the table a bowl of hot and fresh tortilla chips with seven bowls of salsas, onions, limes, etc. We recommend ordering the Arachera Alambre which is a large plate of a combination of ham, Arachera (tender beef), bacon, onions and fused with cheese. It comes with hot tortillas, a side of guacamole and beans. With an extra side of guacamole, the one plate of Alambre was enough for our entire family. Just talking about it now makes me want to go back. If you are looking for a great place to eat in Cancun with a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonable prices and great food, then head over to Caminero Tacos. I can’t wait to go back!
